Accident Reporting Procedure

In the unfortunate event of an accident or damage to the rental vehicle, please do the following:

  • Notify us as soon as practical on 1800 2739 2277.
  • Notify the police if the accident involves injury.
  • If possible, prepare a written statement of the facts signed by all parties. If agreement cannot be reached, obtain a copy of the police report.
  • Do not make any admission of liability, as this may prejudice your insurance cover.
  • You will need to allow at least 30 minutes to complete a full accident report form, when you return the vehicle.
  • If you have a camera - please take photographs of damaged vehicles and the accident site. This will help us verify the damage and circumstances to assist us with any claim.

Please Note: Unless you have purchased collision damage waiver, you will be required to pay all vehicle damage up to a maximum of the chosen excess. If you have a camera - Please take photographs of damaged vehicles and the accident site to verify the damage and circumstances to assist us with our claim.


Important: Record full details of all parties and vehicles involved in the accident.

BREAKDOWN PROCEDURE

All of our vehicles have 24 Hour Roadside Assistance. In mainland Australia, vehicles are covered by the RACQ and in Tasmania by the RACT. In the event that you need Roadside Assistance, please call the appropriate provider below and quote the service number and your vehicle’s registration number:

Mainland Australia - call RACQ on 1800 648 058, Service Number 01033 19204.
Tasmania - call RACT on 13 11 11, Service Number 1036710.

Please Note: For non-mechanical issues (driver error, tyre changing, lockouts etc), there will be a call out fee charged by Apex to your Rental Agreement unless you have purchased the optional Roadside Assistance Cover.

TYRE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT

If you get a flat tyre and are not able to change it yourself please call the RACQ or RACT Breakdown Assistance number (see Breakdown Procedure above for call instructions). Unless you purchased Additional Roadside Assistance there is a cost for this service. For tyre repair or replacement or if tyre damage is the result of an accident, even if no other vehicles were involved, please call Apex in the first instance. Please also be aware that most tyre damage is repaired at the hirers’ expense

TOLL ROADS, PARKING FINES, SPEEDING TICKETS, AND OTHER INFRINGEMENTS

All Apex vehicles are logged in the Linkt system. Linkt will charge the credit card provided for your reservation. You will be sent an email or text message from Linkt on how to log into their website and download your invoice.

During the time you have one of our vehicles on hire, you, as the Hirer or Credit Card Holder are fully responsible for the payment of any infringements incurred, please see the Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and the Linkt Services Terms and Conditions for full details.
